Watercolour on Gesso'd Paper

Painting on a gesso surface provides a wonderful opportunity for self-expression and experimentation. If you are a traditional watercolorist, you face a new challenge, but one that leads to freedom in your painting style and innovation in your technique. Vivian, a signature member of the Watercolor Societies of Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, and Wyoming, shows you how to create interesting textures and vibrant clean colors on this painting surface. The elements of design and the importance of value are stressed.

Both days will start with a demonstration followed by each artist selecting their subject matter and embarking on the day’s project. Vivian will provide plenty of individual attention along the way. The day will close with a constructive critique. The gessoed watercolor paper can be purchased at the class for a nominal fee. A supply list is available.

To encourage you to participate in the workshop, and enjoy the excitement of experimentation, Vivian will present a two hour demonstration on June 19, at 12:00 noon.

Sign up for the workshop on or before the DEMO and receive a 10% Discount.
